Guided Visit to Casa de Chá da Boa Nova + Piscina das Marés
Can you imagine a building that at times hides and at other times reveals itself among rocks in close articulation with the sea? This is one of the most emblematic works by architect Álvaro Siza. Classified as a National Monument, the Casa de Chá da Boa Nova is one of the architect's earliest works, and has become an ex libris on international architecture tours.
A sensory labyrinth that leads us to a swimming pool inserted in the natural landscape. A route that begins as an element of urban landscape and culminates in the unavoidable Piscina das Marés. Siza designs two salt water tanks, defined by the rocks previously existing in the place, joined by concrete planes. A unique experience of a relationship with the sea in its fullness.
